English Curriculum

The English curriculum at the Church of Christ in China Kei Wan Primary School has been planned in accordance with the central curriculum framework and in line with the curriculum objectives.

The Primary Literacy Programme-Reading and Writing programme is used as the foundation in key stage one. P.1 to P. 3 students have their PLP-R/W lessons every week. They can learn phonics and different text types of English through songs, stories, games, role plays and some interesting projects like cooking, designing and art and crafts. Students enjoy the lessons and their writing, reading, listening and speaking skills have improved through these experiences. The local English teachers and the native English teachers implement the school-based literacy programme in key stage two, which provides students an adequate competency in using English.

Activities

A major goal of ours is to provide our students with a language rich environment. Whether through speaking with our English ambassadors, listening to radio dramas or participating in English Days, our students are provided ample opportunities to see, hear and speak English inside and out of the classroom.

Learning English in the real world brings education to life, so our students are encouraged to participate in a variety of learning experiences like summer camps, overseas study tours and different kinds of learning activities.
